Dear students,

The next class on Friday the 3rd of March will be the first case discussion in this course.

Here is a reminder of how the case discussions will be carried out.

Before the discussion, you should have read the case (Apple's future in the "Cases" folder in dropbox). We also suggest you review the theory discussed in Tuesday's class (you will find a copy of the notes in the "Class Notes" folder). Please note that each case is selected for applying the concepts discussed during the previous theoretical classes. For Apple Future's case, expect to analyse its business portfolio and apply the concepts/tools such as the product/market matrix.

On Friday:

  • 8:30 Assignment questions are available. Some minutes before the beginning of the class, the assignment questions will be uploaded in the "Assignment" folder.
  • 8:30-8.45 Debrief of the case:  At the beginning of the class, the instructor will debrief the case: pay attention to the debrief: it is crucial in understanding the expected development of your case discussion.
  • 8:45-11:45 Case development: After the debrief, you have 3 hours to complete the assignment. You will be asked to develop a short presentation + notes answering the assignment questions. Your team can work from wherever you prefer around the university. I (Massimo Riva) and the professor will be available to support any doubts you may have during case development.
  • 11:45 Deadline for case upload. By using this link (https://tinyurl.com/2223STRATENT) you must upload your work. Beware that the time of the upload will be registered.
  • 11:45-12:45 Case presentation and discussion. Randomly, a team will be chosen to present their work. Other students will contribute to the case discussion by challenging the answers and suggesting different ways they have answered the assignment questions. Remember that 30% of your final evaluation is based on these contributions.

By the following Friday, you will receive written feedback on how to improve your work. Please read the feedback carefully and ask for any clarification from me.

Remember to define your team by tomorrow using this form https://tinyurl.com/2223STRATENTTEAM

Best regards
